Gough's Lane

Our first day here in the UK was quite a treat. We decided to get out and explore our area a little, so we went on a walk with the kids. We live on a little lane called Gough's Lane, that dead-ends into a cul-de-sac. It's quite lovely. There are some beautiful houses on our lane, including the one in this picture.

It's beautiful and very well kept. That's one thing we've noticed. Most people like their little areas well kept. In fact, there are a few that take it very seriously. On our walk we noticed the following sign in a small lawn area in front of someone's house. I couldn't resist taking a picture to post on this site.


Don't mess with the Brits when it comes to "dog fouling".
I hope I'm not the only one that finds this amusing.

That is so funny! Wouldn't it be nice if we were that strict here. We would have a lot less "crap" on our shoes!

Glad you made it. Mom has kept us informed on you! I saw that you skyped earlier, sorry, I was doing preschool! Well, hope you are having a blast! Love ya!

Loved seeing your place and knowing you are doing well. I am sure there are so many things you have to get used to. I hope your boys have adjusted well. I am sure it took days to just get your sleeping schedules back to normal.

Can't wait to get more updates.

First, my apologies for the not so great pictures at Chuck E. Cheese.  I'm still trying to figure out photography indoors without a great flash. Man, Chuck E. Catch Up, Part 2

These events aren't in chronological order. They're just in the order of the way the pictures uploaded to the post. House & Yard: After four years of living in this house, we've finally gotten around to finishing the yard. We built this house, so we had to start from scratch. We were doing a little at a time. Every year when we'd get our taxes back, we'd do something big on the yard. This year we decided to bite the bullet and just get the rest finished, and I am so glad we did. We had grass in the back, but that was it. No fence, no playground, no trampoline, no borders, no patio. Here's what the back of the house looked like before: We knew we always wanted a deck, so we finally had our neighbor build us one. When it was almost finished, our boys didn't like to go out on the deck because their feet got too hot (it's west facing). So we decided to have our neighbor add a roof to the deck.
