Ugly Christmas Sweater Wearing, Gingerbread House Decorating Party

We hosted the 1st annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Wearing, Gingerbread House Decorating Party. After a lot of preparation, and a little anxiety on my part, I think fun was had by all.
Some of the couples that got really into the sweaters: Chris & Lisa Knapp

Dietr & Debbie Storrer

Joanna & Marco Juracan

Joy & Ben Hutchins

And, of course, the host & hostess
The gingerbread house decorating was a hit. Although there were no rules about how to decorate your house, there were a few sly people that brought a few extra touches from home to spice up their house a bit.
Here are a few of my favorite houses (close-ups would be better, sorry):
The Storrer's
The Hutchins' (the winners)

Tyler & Karen Pew
The Gardner's
The Juracan's

I think the party was a success, although I'm still trying to decide if I'll do it next year. Okay, I probably will, I don't want anyone else to steal my party. But I think next year, you're not allowed in the door if you don't come dressed appropriately.

I'm seriously less disturbed by the ugly sweater than by your gold leggings. Where in the world did you find those? Please tell me they're not a regular part of your closet. :)

that is so awesome. Funny thing is, my mom would be dressed appropriately every day during the month of December. She has the UGLIEST Christmas sweaters and she wears them...for real.

My sister found the leggings at Target in Cali, and used them for her ugly sweater party. In fact, the whole outfit is hers. I wish I could take credit.
It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship...I think it must have been the Xanadu leggings! We were just meant to be! Love your guts!!!!

What a party! I think your leggings alone should have won a prize. What a fun idea and everyone looked like they had a great time.

Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season. Everytime I hear Mariah Carey or Amy Grant I think of our fun Hawaiian Christmas years ago. Good times.

Love it! How funny are you in your gold tights? Looks like a fun evening. Also, I just scrolled down and saw your darling stockings and stocking holders. I love them. What a great talent you have to make those. I hope you guys had a great Christmas.

oh my gosh, LOVE the ugly sweater idea. we do a tacky gift exchange, but the sweaters really do take things to a totally different level.
