Blessings
I love to read blogs that are uplifting. There are a few of my blogging posse who frequently post thoughts that inspire me to be a better person. Every time I read these posts, I come away feeling motivated to do a little more. I am grateful to have these people in my life. In order to act upon the words of these friends, I'd like to start doing a daily post about the blessings in my life, or the things I am grateful for. We'll see how diligent I am in being consistent in my endeavour, but my intentions are genuine.
So, for today I'd like to say thank you to the people who's blogs inspire me. There are many, and I hope I don't offend anyone by not naming some of you, but there are a few that I would like to mention specifically.
Avery is the daughter of my mission president. She was 14 at the time of my mission. For one week, while her parents were gone, she came to my area and became my companion. It was great. I grew to love this girl. She is now a young mother with two beautiful children. Her second, a girl named Bela (which means beautiful in Portuguese), was born with a rare heart disease called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome as well as Turner syndrome. Her blog is nothing but uplifting. The faith and strength that she has is amazing to me and is most likely the reason for the strength in her young daughter. By reading her blog, I am constantly reminded that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. It's no wonder she is the way she is, because she has the most amazing parents. I can't describe exactly how much Avery inspires me, but I am grateful to know her, and I am blessed by her sharing her experiences.
I love Cheryl. She has a private blog, but for those of you who know her, you know how eloquent she is. The nice thing about Cheryl's inspiring blog is that it isn't just fluff. Cheryl posts life as it happens. If her house is a disaster, she'll let you know about it. When her kids do or say crazy things, she's okay sharing it with everyone. But what I like best about Cheryl's blog is that there is always a silver lining. No matter how difficult life gets or how frustrated she is (and she writes about that too), Cheryl finds a way to bring in a little humor or gratitude. Her blog is titled "Count Your Blessings!". Thank you Cheryl for being such an inspiration.
BriAnn writes her blog as letters written to her sister who is serving a mission. She'll give a few details of the things that have been going on, but in every single post she lists a few of her blessings. She always has something to be grateful for. I'm worried that as I do this, I might run out of things to be grateful for, but Bri always recognizes her blessings. The main thing I like about Bri's blog is that she mentions her simple blessings. It doesn't have to be any deep thought. Often times it's an item or an act of someone. I like it because it just makes sense to include all of your blessings.
As I said earlier, there are many more people who encourage me to do better, and I am grateful to have all of those people in my life.

I agree with you about loving to read uplifting blogs/posts. There is something about reading along about ones life journey and sharing in it. It gives you perspective. It gives you a deep love and appreciation for that person and for your own life. It truly puts the basic, core reasons we are here on this earth into focus.
I think reading and sharing stories helps us, builds us up and makes us strong to endure our challenges and appreicate our blessings.
Thanks for sharing in my life and in my journey through. We are touched, changed and helped by good friends. I am blessed and call you one of mine. Love your guts AJ!!
