Points for Pundits-National Parks
| I recently returned from spending a week in Arizona for Easter. As I was there, I saw an ad on TV encouraging people to visit the great state of Utah. One of it's selling points was that Utah has five National Parks. I knew Utah had great National Parks, but I was unable to name them all. So my question is: What are the five National Parks in the state of Utah, and which ones have you visited? As I looked up the answer, I found it interesting that there are two states that tie for having the most National Parks. My second question is: What are the two states that have the most National Parks, and which ones have you visited? Remember, l'm trusting you all to look up the answers on your own and not copy them from the comments. Good luck! |

Utah's national parks are:
1. Arches
2. Bryce
3. Canyonlands
4. Capitol Reef
5. Zion
Sadly, I've only been to Zion but I would love to go to Bryce Canyon one of these days. Devon always tries to convince me to go on our drive up but I'm always more interested in just getting the drive over with.
California and Alaska tie for the most parks at 8. And I haven't been to any of those.
So, I did the research. In Utah, the five parks are: Zions, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands and Capital Reef. I have been to Zions, Bryce Canyon and Arches. I loved Bryce Canyon the most, so far.
The two states with the most parks are California and Alaska, but I don't think I could tell you exactly how many. I couldn't keep straight whether it was an actual park or national historic park, or national park and preserve. I believe there are 7 or 8.
I have been to the Redwood National Park in California.
California and Alaska tie for the most.
I SO need to go to Alaska. It's on my must visit list.
Utah's
Bryce Canyon- been here
Zion's- been here
Arches- been here
Canyonlands- I don't think I have
Capitol Reef- I don't think here either.
California and Alaska
I've been to a few of the national "monuments" but not parks here in CA. We are planning our trip to Yosemite though :)
2. Bryce
3. Arches
4. Canyonlands
5. Capitol Reef
Can't say that I have been to any of them... so sad!!! Other than the beginning of Zions. I need to get out more. :)
California and Alaska...can't say that I've been to any of them...but being that I lived in California when I was little, there is a good chance that I did go...but I can't remember. :)
Sorry, this comment may get a bit long, but I have to tell you a nice story. After you left my parents house the other day Talmage came up to me and grabbed my cheeks and got his face about an inch away from mine (its what he does when he has something very serious and very important to say)and he said "Mommy, Kimball was so nice to me" I really thought that he was going to tell on someone or tell me some bad so I asked him if that was all he needed to say and said "I just want to say that Kimball is very nice."
Anyway I just thought that you would like to know what a nice son you have. Tell him thanks and hi from Talmage.

Been to Bryce and the Grand Canyon. Not sure about the rest. Sad huh. I'll have to head on down in the future. The only time we would go was either headed to or from Lake Powell.
California and Alaska.
Went to Alaska back in 96. Drove through a few parks while touring there.
Driven through Death Valley (can't believe they count that one...) and tried to find Muir Woods (though it's a National Monument) with my family when I was engaged to Rich. We were close but go lost. So a close second.
joe's with me doing this and collectively we've been to or atleast driven through/past grand canyon, arches, bryce, zion
I didn't find out the second answer, but we have been to the redwood forest and plan to go to yosemite and others here in ca sometime this year....that was fun!
