Halloween

I'm a little late with the updates, so now I'm playing catch up. I may be posting mostly pictures for a while until I feel I have the time and energy to give all the details I want. Halloween was a little different here in England. On Tuesday night the ward put on a trunk-or-treat. I have to admit, it was my first trunk-or-treat. Being from Utah, there has never been a need to have a trunk-or-treat. It was a lot of fun. My kids started out very excited.

After much deliberation of what Kimball should be for Halloween (costumes aren't easy to come by here in England), we decided on a vampire. He was quite excited about it, especially because he got to put white eye shadow on his face and dark eye shadow underneath his eyes. It took him some talking into, but once he tried on the vampire teeth he was also very excited about those. Luckily, my sister in Prague (who we visited a month ago) had a peacock costume that was the perfect size for Sammy. He was a hit, as I'm sure you can tell. He didn't love keeping the hood on, but he was cute no matter what.

At the ward trunk-or-treat we made a last minute attempt to decorate our car. (Like I said, our options for Halloween decorations were limited.) We did however have Michael Jackson's "Thriller" playing in the background. I thought it was a nice touch. It was a pretty cold night. As soon as we got there (which, of course, we were the first ones there) Kimball was miserable and wanted to go inside. Once most of the cars were set up, Clark took Kimball and Sammy to a few different cars. I think they got to about four cars before Kimball was ready to go home. We let him hang out in the car while we visited. It was a fun night, and we still have a ton of treats from it. Not because of all the treats Kimball and Sammy got, but because of the excess we had left over.

On Halloween night, we took the boys out again around the neighborhood. We only went to a few houses, but the boys had a much more enjoyable time. It wasn't nearly as cold, and Kimball loved ringing the door bell. As soon as someone would open the door, Kimball would say trick-or-treat and walk right into their house as if it were his own. We need to work on that. As far as Kimball is concerned, everyone is his friend.

Don't I have cute boys? One of the neighbors we visited were our neighbors right next door, Nigel and May. They have been very kind to us, and Kimball loves to chat with them. They gave the boys toffee covered apples. The boys were very excited about that.

Overall, it was a good Halloween. Not too stressful, but still fun.

OK, dinner is done (the clean up is not) but I got a chance to read all about Halloween. Love your cute neighbors. I am glad you have a few nice people around.

The costumes were perfect. I love that Amber had that cute peacock costume and that it fit Sammy so well.

Glad you had such a fun night being together!

PS Love the cream hat and coat. You looked darling in them!

We are excited about the baby to come. It's hard to believe 9 months has gone by already.

What a cute family!

Where did Amber get that Peacock costume? I love it. Has she started a blog yet? I would love to catch up with her family.

My mom got the peacock outfit somewhere in California.

Lindsey and I are still trying to talk Amber into starting a blog, but she does look at a lot of people's blogs from time to time.

I love the costumes, and you look so dang good for being as pregnant as you are! Ditto on the cream ensemble. ;-)

Also, we just moved back to Utah and to what? Trunk or Treat! Our ward does it HERE. It's kind of crazy, and our kids got way too much candy between two nights, so I'm thinking one of the two will go next year. Maybe we'll skip trick or treats and make icky sticky toffee pudding!
