Addilyn Joy Pew

Our dear sweet Addilyn Joy joined our family at 6:14pm on November 22, 2007. Yes, Thanksgiving Day. She came very fast and everything went well. The whole having a baby in a foreign country wasn't nearly as bad as I'd expected. Because she came so fast (we got to the hospital at 5pm) my epidural didn't work, so I gave birth without any medication. That alone was an interesting experience, but she came, she is beautiful, and we are so happy to have her in our family. She was our biggest baby yet: 8 lbs even (3.625 kilos) and just shy of 21 inches (53 cm). A couple of people have commented that she looks like me. We think she looks just like Sammy and Kimball's baby pictures. Have a look and judge for yourself.

In between contractions.

Right after Addilyn was born. After one day in the hospital we came home to have Addi meet Sammy and Kimball. Sammy holding Addilyn for the first time.

Addilyn in her first few minutes.
This is my favorite picture of her right after she was born.
Clark holding Addi for the first time.
This is day five. The midwife said Addilyn wasn't getting enough milk because she doesn't latch on properly (most likely due to the fact that she's tongue-tied), so Kimball got to give her one of her first bottles. Both of the boys were so excited to be a part of this.
This is Addilyn on day four. She's already changed so much from when she was first born. I'm not sure I'm ready for her to grow up.
Isn't she a cutie? We thought we'd be able to wake her up by putting her on her tummy, but she loved it and kept right on sleeping.
Addi's first day home, and our first family photo since she was born.
Kimball's first time holding Addilyn. He loves her so much. He washes his hands all of the time so that he can hold her.

I love the one on her tummy! Too cute! I was thinking about sweet Addi today and I wish I could hold her! The boys look cute with her too...at least for now.

I still can't believe you felt it all...OUCH!

Here you are back blogging! You are amazing. First, you looked so good when you were 9 months pregnant. Hard to believe she was so big.

I loved getting to see more pictures of her. What a doll. She's so beautiful and I think she looks so much like you.

I hope she is eating OK. It will be fun to let the boys feed her. I bottle fed all of mine and they turned out OK (well, we think so! Just kidding).

So happy you posted. You were missed.

So cute! I also love the one on her tummy. She has a cute smile. :) You should put pictures up of all 3 when they were born, so we can see what they all looked like when they were born. You look fantastic! Way to go on giving birth with out the meds! Even if it wasn't planned. :)

Amanda, you're incredible! If you hadn't said you gave birth to her naturally I wouldn't have believed it by these pictures (except, of course for the lack of tubing and machinery to monitor the progress). She's beautiful, and you look awesome! Thanks for the pictures, and it's a relief to hear everything turned out well! Is your mom still there?

I love the pictures Amanda. She is so adorable. You looked amazing at 9 months, wow...and to think she was that big. And FYI you're not supposed to look that great after giving birth, especially when you had to FEEL it all. :)
